The Missus and I finally got away for a week and we headed southwest. We’ve made some memories in Tucumcari and we always stop there.

Whether the train stops there or not, LOL.

After stopping in Flagstaff AZ we headed for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon via Highway 89 across the high desert. We stopped at Lee’s Ferry on the Colorado River.

Then on past the Vermillion Cliffs…

…and finally to the Grand Canyon, via Kaibab National Forest. There is no documentary that can compare with experiencing its vastness and beauty of the area,

To spice things up a little we, took a trail ride that stopped near the rim for photos. Here’s Peggi on a pretty white horse named Uno and me on a mule named Supai, after the tunnel. Good mounts but the poor mule was about tired of hauling folks around and he had to be prodded along to keep from holding the line up. Still it was a fantastic time!
